TOLERANCE TO NEGATIVE THINKING |

DEALING WITH CONFLICT - LOVING AND LETTING GO
Two things
characterize conflict free living. Loving and letting go. At
the end of your life, no one will ask how many conflicts you
had, and whether you won or lost those battles. No one will ask
if you were always right. On the final judgment day, you will
be judged on loving and letting go.

When you love
people, conflict disappears. A heart full of love easily
handles ninety-nine percent of the problems in life. The heart
of love recognizes how often things are worth fighting about.
The answer is almost never. The heart of love looks at conflict
as something unnecessary and destructive. It either ignores or
walks around the preventable conflicts of life.
Living is
easier when your heart is full of love. When you are not mired
down in conflict, you no longer sink in the quicksand of
negative thought. Instead, you follow your dreams. Living your
dreams is why you are here on planet earth. If you are fully
committed to living your dreams, you won’t waste your resources
on conflict.

Letting go is
the natural course of life. You spend the first half of life
striving, struggling, accumulating, and achieving. You spend
the last half of life letting go. The last half of life is
relinquishment of everything you struggled to achieve in the
first half. It is giving back everything you gained. Usually,
you give it back a little bit at a time. Your physical vigor
and health gradually wane. Your accomplishments recede into the
distance. Your achievements become distant memories, and you
pass your wealth on to others.
The
conflict you experienced in the first half of your life is put
in perspective. As you let go of your struggles during the last
half of life, conflict gradually fades. If you had been able to
let go in the first half of your life, conflict wouldn’t have
been a significant problem then either.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME PURSUING
CONFLICT
You are your
own worse enemy when you take the path of conflict. Your life
is only a flicker, and in a moment, it’s gone. You have so
little time in which to live, and wasting any of that time on
conflict is insane.
My life pales
into insignificance as I review the course of recorded history.
The immense size and age of the physical universe makes me feel
as if I am nothing. I am only a speck of dust injected with
life and briefly passing through time. My life is too short to
be filled with conflict and consumed with negative thoughts.
Since these two culprits usually travel hand in hand, I banish
them both from my world. I don’t want to give them any of my
precious time.

I keep a ten
thousand-year-old Neolithic arrowhead in my pocket. I found it
in an ancient dried-up lakebed in the desert. The last human to
touch that arrowhead lived ten thousand years ago, and now he is
gone. That puts conflict in perspective. Soon, I will be gone,
and I won’t waste my time on conflict and negative thoughts. I
only have time for loving, living, and letting go.

THE LIFE LONG
DISORIENTED
Who are the Life Long Disoriented?
The Life Long Disoriented are a diverse
group of people sharing many characteristics in common. At the
most basic level, they don't know who they are or where they are
going. They live by default rather than by design, and they are
unwilling to do whatever it takes to make their dreams come
true. When things don't work out, they always have an excuse,
and it's never their fault. They are unable to maintain a
sustained focus for the long haul. They are talkers rather than
doers. They never commit themselves to anything with all their
heart, all their mind, and all their strength.
Review this checklist to see how many of the
following characteristics you share in common with the Life Long
Disoriented.
1. They believe they can think the same old
thoughts, take the same old actions, and still get a new life.
2. They don't run their own mind. Someone else
runs it for them, and tells them how to think and what to do.
3. They don't know how to program their own
mind. All of their programming was inherited or done by other people.
4. They are image-oriented. They try to change
their life by changing their image rather than by changing the way
they think.
5. They don't live as if they are a great
person. They don't act as if their dreams are possible and work each
day to make them happen.
6. They tolerate negative thinking.
7. They haven't selected an area of excellence
which they develop and give to the world.
8. They create and adopt limitations in their
own mind.
9. The are outcome-oriented rather than
purpose-oriented.
10. They don't control what goes into their
mind.
11. They don't understand that they can change
who they are by changing what they put into their mind.
12. They have never opened their heart and mind
to the power of God's love. They don't have a personal relationship
with God based on love.
13. They don't live congruently with their
heart, mind, and will all heading in the same direction.
It's easy to become a member of the Life Long
Disoriented. All you have to do is hand other people your dreams, and
they will tell you what to do and how to think for the rest of your
life. They will give you a small plot in Nowhere Land in which you
can bury your dreams forever.
